Around the side, the design gets even more interesting:

For 2027, Kia is expanding the color palette to ten distinct shades including new earthy tones like Terrain Brown Matte and Black Jade Green, shown below.

But the real showstopper is the availability of matte finishes—typically reserved for high-end luxury performance cars, Kia is one of the only brands in the affordability segment offering matte finishes. This non-reflective, satin finish absorbs light rather than reflecting it, highlighting the sharp creases and muscular lines of the new body on the 2027 Telluride.

Terrain Brown Matte and Panthera Metal Matte are currently available on the 2027 Telluride.

The dashboard of the 2027 Telluride is dominated by the massive Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), housing two 12.3-inch screens. But the upgrades go far beyond just screen size; Kia has introduced features designed to keep Omaha families powered up and in control, whether on the daily commute or deep on a gravel road.

Two charging pads in the center console allow both the driver and the front passenger to charge their compatible devices simultaneously.

The center display can transform into an off-road command center. It provides real-time data on pitch, roll, and steering angle. If you are navigating a steep incline at Platte River State Park or crawling through a deeply rutted unmaintained road after a storm, this data helps you maintain stability.

Exclusive to the Hybrid model is a feature called “Stay Mode.” This leverages the high-voltage battery to run the climate control, audio, and cabin lighting for up to 20 minutes without the gas engine running.

This is a game-changer for parents. If you are waiting in the pickup line at Millard West or sitting in the car while your toddler naps, “Stay Mode” keeps the A/C blasting without idling the engine. You save gas, reduce emissions, and keep the cabin silent.

The 2027 Telluride is longer than its predecessor, measuring 199.2 inches bumper-to-bumper. This extra size translates directly to utility.

The cargo area now features a reconfigurable luggage floor with a removable partition. It helps organize groceries so they don’t roll around, or it can be removed to fit bulky sports gear.

The cargo floor even includes a folding table with integrated ruler markings—perfect for measuring a catch on a fishing trip or prepping snacks during a tailgate at Memorial Stadium.

The LX is the entry point, introducing the new Turbo engine dual-screen display, auto pop-out door handles, LED headlights, and 19 collision avoidance and safety assistance features. The new standard engine is a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. While it produces 274 horsepower (slightly less than the old V6), the magic number here is its 311 lb-ft of torque, which is a significant increase over the previous generation.

Torque is the force you feel when you step on the gas. This increased torque comes in earlier in the RPM range, meaning the Telluride feels punchier and more responsive when pulling away from stoplights on Dodge Street or passing traffic on Highway 370.

While producing nearly-equivalent power and more torque than the previous generation’s V6, the 2.5 L turbo 4-cylinder in the 2027 Telluride adds 4 MPG combined bringing the average from 21 to 25 MPG.

No plugs, no charging, but the added benefits of an estimated 35 MPG combined, 600 miles of total range, 55 additional horsepower, and 28 additional lb-ft of torque come with the first-ever hybrid powertrain offered in a Kia Telluride.

Efficiency doesn’t come at the cost of luxury in the 2027 Kia Telluride HEV, with quiet interior and acoustic glass coming standard on the hybrid’s windshield and available on the second-row windows. Features like dual sunroofs and Meridian™ Premium Audio are available too.
